Multi-Domain Sites

Domain Masking (also known as URL masking) is a technique used to display the content of one website while keeping a different URL visible in the browser’s address bar.

⭐This feature is only available to Enterprise subscribers. Upgrade your plan today!

The Multiple Domains feature (also known as Domain Masking) allows you to display your Social Pinpoint site or a specific project under one or more custom domains, while continuing to manage all content and data from a single platform.

This is commonly used for branded campaigns, partnerships, or projects that need to appear as a standalone site without creating a separate Social Pinpoint instance.

Domain Masking lets visitors access your site using a custom or branded URL while the content is served from your existing Social Pinpoint site.

Example:

To the visitor, the site appears fully branded and independent even though it is managed centrally.

⚙️Settings

Domain Setup

  • Domain Masking is enabled upon request or during your site's onboarding period
  • A custom domain or subdomain must be configured via DNS (A or CNAME record)
  • The domain points to the Social Pinpoint application endpoint

The rest of the setup is done by our Support team; we would need you to provide the following details:

  • Full domain to be mapped i.e. subdomain.yourdomain.gov.au
  • Site Name
  • The primary page/project for the domain.
  • Do you need to login access from this domain?
Optional Settings
  • Use Domain Home Page Theme
    • When enabled, pages under the mapped domain would have its own theme that would be consistent to its brand/experience.

🎯Key Actions

Login and Dashboard Access

Site users and administrators cannot log in or access the dashboard from a masked domain. All content edits and actions must be completed via the site’s original domain. Pages can then be located and edited through the Sitemap as usual.

If login and dashboard access is required on a masked domain, please contact our Support team to discuss enabling this functionality.

Email configurations

Separate email configurations for masked domains are not supported.

All system emails, notifications, and campaigns are sent using the primary site domain and configuration.

Registration

Separate registration flows for masked domains are not supported.

All users register and authenticate through the primary site domain, sharing a single account across the platform.

Search Engines & Analytics

Domain masking can impact how search engines and analytics tools interpret your site:

  • Search engines may not correctly index the masked domain
  • SEO ranking and authority are typically attributed to the original site domain
  • Analytics tools (such as GA4) may under-report or misattribute traffic from masked domains without additional configuration

Domain masking is best suited for branding, campaigns, and partnerships rather than SEO-driven use cases.
