Decommissioning Your Social Pinpoint Site

In the event that your contract with Social Pinpoint is ending, follow these key steps to ensure you have the data and information you need.

Prior to the expiry or termination of your subscription, you are responsible for capturing and exporting all content and data stored or collected via the platform. Social Pinpoint provides functionality that allows you to export data in a variety of formats including PDF, XLSX and CSV.

To help you prepare, here are a few recommended actions to take before your site is decommissioned:

Step 1: URL Redirects

To ensure visitors do not end up on a decommissioned page, it is very important to ensure that any hyperlinks from external websites to your Social Pinpoint site are redirected to an alternate source. Your Social Pinpoint site will not be accessible 30 days post contract end.

Step 2: Export Your Data

Once decommissioned, your site data will no longer be available. Therefore, it's integral to download all of your reports and raw data.

  • Export reporting insights for each engagement activity (e.g., surveys, Social Map, discussion forums) from the Results tab.

  • Generate all-time Overview Reports for key analytics across your site, individual projects, or a group of projects.

  • Export demographic reports of participant data across your site or specific projects.

See below for instructions on downloading these reports.

Step 3: Save Your Projects

We recommend taking screenshots of your projects for archiving or presentation purposes. You can also video your screen using tools such as the Microsoft Snipping Tool

Once you have completed all of these steps, please touch base with your Customer Success Manager to let them know and discuss next steps.

How to Download Reports and Data

There are three primary report types: Overview, Results and People.

You can view reports from Dashboard --> Reports after logging in and selecting the report type from the menu at the left-side of the interface. Site Administrators have access to all reports whereas General Users only have access to the projects they are assigned to. Make sure to select the appropriate date range (you will likely want "all time").

Navigate to Reports

Select the report type you wish to download and which projects you want to select.

Make sure to select the appropriate date range. In this case, you will likely want to select "All Time".

Once you are satisfied with your selected parameters, Export the reports. Make sure to spend time going to each of the different report types on the left side bar, downloading all of the data for the "All Time" range, for all projects.
